12 weeks and counting...
We had our 12 week check up on Monday. Of course, our first stop was the scale. I lost 8 lbs since our 8 week visit and of course, they didnt like that. They gave me some nausea medicine and it is now my new best friend and I no longer despise food. They went over all the blood work, and everything looks great. They told us that my blood type was A negative, so I will receive the rhogam injection around 22 weeks. We were able to hear the heart beat on the doppler for a few seconds, but that was it. The baby kept running from the doppler, but I was so glad to hear the heart beat, even if it was only for a few seconds. The doctor said it was between 150 and 160 and that it was a nice strong heart beat and was happy with it. The doctor told us that because of our insurance (tricare) we probably wont be able to have another ultrasound until 22-24 weeks, and even then we have to make up an excuse to get one. In the mean while, Bruce and I plan to go to a place in Fredericksburg, VA called "sneak a peak" at 16 weeks. We do have to pay out of pocket, but we will be able to see the baby, hear the heart beat, get pictures and of course find out the sex of the baby :-D We will be 16 weeks the last week in October, so we are anxious for this month to pass by quickly.
